On Tuesday 13 August (9.30 pm, admission €20, advance tickets available on Dice.fm and Ticketmaster.it), the Castello Volante in Corigliano d'Otranto is hosting an international evening as part of Coolclub’s SEI Festival.
YĪN YĪN
The meeting point between the Netherlands and South-East Asia? The tropical island where Yīn Yīn make their artistic home. The band’s style is a fusion of funk and traditional Asian music, using instruments that are partly traditional and partly modern but which evoke the same sounds.
“Mount Matsu”, released in January, is the quartet’s third album. It will be impossible to resist the band’s overwhelming energy: we recommend you only buy a ticket if you really fancy swaying in front of the stage.
PARBLEU
How to describe a Parbleu concert? A journey through equatorial grooves, featuring an irresistible blend of cumbia, psychedelic Afro-Caribbean rhythms and a retro French-style vibe. A sound that evokes summer sunsets, sea salt and maracas. Have we got the idea across?
Andres Balbucea and Andrea de Fazio lead an enigmatic ensemble of six musicians, where energetic swathes of disco, futuristic funk and cinematic jazz fusion are infused with the warm vibes of Caribbean dub, tropical Latin and sunny Afrobeat.
