La Crus live at the SEI Festival

Sud Est Indipendente | 18th edition | Losing oneself to find oneself

Wednesday 7 August (9.30 pm | admission €20 | advance tickets available on Dice.fm and Ticketmaster.it) the Castello Volante in Corigliano d’Otranto will host a concert by La Crus, with Ninotchka – a musical project blending singer-songwriting, trip-hop and post-rock by Mimmo Pesare – as the support act.

La Crus’s long career began in Milan in 1995; Mauro Ermanno GiovanardiCesare Malfatti and Alex Cremonesi have shared their innovative artistry with the public, leaving their mark on that unique musical era of the 1990s with albums and singles that have become part of the collective memory of the public and Italian discography. Their work has been recognised with the Ciampi Prize, the Targa Tenco (on no fewer than two occasions), the Max Generation Critics’ Award and the PIM Award, to name but a few. At the 2011 Sanremo Festival, they presented ‘Io Confesso’, which has now returned to the spotlight thanks to a guest appearance by Carmen Consoli, sealing the long-awaited reunion announced on 27 October 2023, whilst the new year was kicked off with ‘Come ogni volta’, perhaps the band’s most representative track, as they rise like a phoenix and shine with renewed brilliance, thanks in part to the extraordinary contributions of Colapesce and Dimartino.  The new album “Proteggimi da ciò che voglio”, released in March 2024, brings back to the stage not only great emotions but also Joe / Mauro Ermanno Giovanardi (vocals and harmonica), Cesare Malfatti (guitars and samples), Chiara Castello (keyboards and backing vocals), Marco Carusino (bass and guitars) and Leziero Rescigno (drums); a completely new line-up for a captivating and enthralling live show, with a powerful and sophisticated sound.
