On Tuesday 6 August (10.00 pm – admission €13), the Castello Volante in Corigliano d’Otranto will host the eagerly awaited Indie Karaoke.
Launched in Bologna in 2019, the Indie Club format has taken its concept to almost fifty Italian cities. Before the live performance, audience members will have the chance to sign up to sing their favourite track, chosen from a ‘menu’ of indie hits. ‘Tutto qui’ by Gazzelle, ‘2minuti’ by Calcutta, ‘Baby Goodman’ by Tananai, ‘Faccio un casino’ by Coez, ‘Superclassico’ by Ernia and ‘Notti in bianco’ by Blanco are just some of the tracks the audience can select and perform on stage.
The aim is to offer people a different experience from traditional karaoke: aspiring singers will have the chance to step into the shoes of the frontman of a real band, complete with guitar, bass, drums and keyboards. After around two hours of concert, amid applause, ovations, sing-alongs at the top of their voices and the inevitable encores, the evening will continue from midnight with a DJ set by Mattew, who will carry on the musical journey through Italian indie.
