Friday 26 July (9.30 pm, free entry) Maladè performs live at the Castello Volante in Corigliano d’Otranto as part of Coolclub’s SEI Festival.
Vincenzo Guerra, known by his stage name Maladè, translates the urban Mediterranean landscapes of the Adriatic coast into music. In his debut album, the artist recounts everyday life in Bari, from which he often longs to escape: “Mezz’Aller” is the square in Carbonara; it is the road he used to cycle along as a child and ride his moped along as a teenager. Through his music, the artist expresses all the emotions that would otherwise risk imploding: should he flee his homeland or live with the melancholy it brings?
The project blends funk and nu jazz, dialect and universal languages, contemporary sounds and traditional ones.
