On 27 and 28 April, Corigliano d’Otranto will host the celebrations for the traditional Fiera di San Giorgio. An ancient ‘village’ fair where culture and tradition come together.
In the past, the Fiera was a major event for the community: in the evening, the ‘Vutti’ ritual took place – a day when, in days gone by, wine was drawn from the barrels to celebrate engagements, marking the first public outing for couples of ‘ziti’ as they strolled amongst the stalls selling toys, ‘scapece’, ‘mustaccioli’ and ‘copeta’, complete with the traditional ride on the fairground attractions; whilst the following morning saw the market and the sale of livestock.

- FLYING FAIR
On Saturday 27 April from 4.00 pm to 8.00 pm and Sunday 28 April from 9.00 am to 1.00 pm, the agri-food products from the Castello Volante Bookshop will take centre stage at the Feast of St George in the atrium of the ancient manor.
An opportunity to rediscover the traditions of Corigliano d’Otranto and the Feast of St George, and to learn about the agri-food sector in our region.
