A SPOOKY WEEKEND
From 29 October to 2 November, with a themed programme, we invite you to immerse yourselves in the spooky atmosphere of Halloween.
A varied programme of events, dramatised tours, a murder mystery dinner, and hands-on workshops for young and old alike in the darkness of the Castello Volante in Corigliano d’Otranto.

Guided tours: ‘A Castle of Fears’
Guided tours in the dark in search of our ghosts

Stories of wars, sieges by foreign invaders, dark dungeons, dragons and screaming masks, echoes and ghosts of the past: this, too, is the castle. A vast repository of humanity’s primal fears, which we will explore in the dark to exorcise them, lay them to waste, and emerge liberated.

- SUNDAY 30 OCTOBER
Children’s Halloween
From 3 pm to 6 pm, the creative workshop ‘La fabbrica dei mostri’ (The Monster Factory), led by artist Ruggero Asnago, is designed for young and old alike. It’s a continuous, creative assembly line where participants can piece together spooky elements to build their own giant mask. Participants (children under 6 must be accompanied by an adult) will be able to draw stories using lines and words and proudly display their banner in the final parade.
After the workshop, at 6 pm, it’s time for the Dance of the Monsters! The unmissable parade of monstrous mask-banners will take over the Castle and the village for a colourful, communal “Trick or treat?”.
Finally, from 7 pm to 8 pm, this year there’ll be a fantastic Kids’ Halloween Party! Given the well-established success of the Halloween party at Castello Volante, how could we not organise a ‘big party’ for the little ones too? We’ve put together a spooktacular DJ set just for the little ones!
Parents will only be admitted if they’re in fancy dress!
At the same time, there’ll be the “A Castle of Fears” tour for adults.
Cost of workshop + parade + party: 10 euros per child – Cost of party only: 5 euros per child.

Murder Mystery Dinner
At 8.30 pm, a new dark mystery awaits you on the terraces of Nuvole, the Castello Volante’s bistro.
‘A Deadly Dance’ is the title of this special murder mystery dinner, in collaboration with Improvvisart.

- MONDAY 31 OCTOBER
Winds of Fear
At 5.20 pm, twenty minutes of readings aloud to exorcise fears, organised by the Municipal Library / Magma Association.
The scariest night of the year cannot go unnoticed amongst the pages of books. We look forward to seeing you, dressed in spooky costumes, at the library for an afternoon of readings featuring ghosts, zombies and monsters of all kinds.

A Spooky Night
At 10 pm, once again this year, on Halloween night, the Castello Volante will be transformed into a spine-chilling place to lose yourself in and explore, spending the scariest night of the year amidst music, eerie apparitions, and literary and cinematic references.

At 7.00 pm, opening of Emilia Ruggiero’s solo exhibition
An ongoing painting project by the artist Emilia Ruggiero, which tells the stories of women. Strong, tenacious, rebellious, dreamers. Women forced to navigate inequality and forge their own paths amidst countless difficulties.

Fasten your seatbelts DJ SET!
At 10.00 pm, we’ll be joined by a group of travel specialists and influencers from the LGBTQ+ sector, as part of ‘Fasten your seatbelts’ – the educational tour organised by Fuori Luogo, supported by Pugliapromozione and realised in collaboration with AITGL, the Italian Gay & Lesbian Tourism Association and 73100gaya.
