On Thursday 29 August at 9.30 pm, at the Castello Volante in Corigliano d’Otranto, Salento-born composer and musician Agnese Contini will perform her instrumental pieces for acoustic guitar, accompanied on the cello by Ester Ambra Giannelli. The roots of her music lie in the world of classical music, but find fertile ground in the sounds of George Harrison and Mark Knopfler, in the open tunings of Nick Drake and Jimmy Page, and in the fingerstyle solos of John Butler. Following her debut album *Dinamiche di volo*, released in October 2023 on the NOS Records Label, she released the single *Grandpa Cloud* a few months ago on the INRI Classic label.
Next, thanks to the support of Nuovo Imaie, the spotlight turns to Vipera, the musical project of Caterina Dufì, an artist and writer whose multidisciplinary practice blends writing, music, performance and visual art. Following the EP “Tentativo di volo” (Dischi Sotterranei, 2021), the audio-visual installation “Prima di fare fuoco” and the poetic piece for solo voice and electronics “Trafitto” (2022), the radio drama *I sassi dell’Elba*, co-written with Daniele Carcassi, and the electronic poetic piece *L’intrico dei rami di alberi diversi ha svelato due modi distinti per vedere il cielo* with Eugenia Delbue, *Acerbo e divorato* is set for release in late 2023. Produced by Niccolò Cruciani for Dischi Sotterranei, his debut album is experimental and poetic, intensely vivid and inspired, electronic and deeply personal. Over the years, she has taken her music on tour across Italy, also supporting concerts by Carmen Consoli, Maria Antonietta and Owen (the solo project of Mike Kinsella, frontman of the band American Football).
