An Experience of Liberation through Clay
led by Vivienne
When you don’t have the answers, listen to yourself.
Return to your roots; they lead to the heart.
Creating is a deeply transformative and liberating act
It is about re-discovering every part of yourself, giving it form and freedom.
During the workshop, we will give shape to ourselves through a tactile dialogue with the Earth – that is, clay – a grounding and expressive medium.
What you’ll experience:
- exploratory exercises: we’ll connect with the clay, focusing on our breath and sense of touch.
- shaping ~ allowing ourselves to be shaped: after creating space in our hearts and minds, we encounter ‘our Form’.
What to bring with you:
- a cushion
- cotton cloth
- small bowl for water
We recommend wearing comfortable clothing.
Who is Vivienne • After training in applied art and sculpture, Viviana Casaluci turned her attention to the world of ceramics. Vivienne Ceramic Art Studio is her creative project, in which she explores the art of ceramics by blending it with her love for the world of symbols. The result is ‘Creatures’ meant to be contemplated rather than owned, in which everyone can seek a deep and intimate meaning. Fascinated by the artistic world of children, as well as by primitive and abstract art, she embarked on a journey into art therapy to understand what creativity is: the very essence of our existence in the world.

A knot, a weave, an object
Macramé workshop
organised by Filè
Macramé is a technique that requires only the use of one’s hands, without the aid of any other tools. It involves transforming simple threads into decorative elements by creating various types of knots.
It is an easy technique to learn and one through which you can create a wide variety of objects, from plant pots to bags, from jewellery to tapestries.
During the workshop, you’ll be introduced to macramé by learning the techniques and the four basic knots, and you’ll create a piece to take home with you, giving free rein to your creativity.
Who is Filè • Elisabetta Selleri studied and graduated in Art History, which remains the central theme of her life’s journey. An eclectic individual, she explored various craft techniques before settling on macramé around four years ago. Through her creations, she helps to design displays for various cultural events. Rebellious Threads
A haute couture embroidery workshop exploring memory, the future and freedom
curated by Simona Falconi
Semi-hidden and in the shadows, anonymous and unknown, the meticulous art of haute couture embroidery remains on the sidelines, behind the scenes of the world’s most prestigious catwalks and red carpets.
It is precisely there, where sequins and Swarovski crystals, silks and yarns, rhinestones and feathers – all embroidered one by one by diligent hands – sparkle, that the artisans of ‘Made in Italy’ fade from view.
Bringing this ancient knowledge back to light, creating opportunities for exchange and passing on these techniques is the first step towards ensuring that these crafts, now at risk of extinction, can survive over time.
The workshop is open to anyone wishing to explore the various embroidery techniques, including the Lunéville technique, which is mainly used in haute couture.
The workshop invites participants to reflect on resilience and the importance of freedom of expression, to express their own vision of freedom through the art of embroidery.
Who is Simona Falconi • Simona Falconi was born and raised in Sardinia, surrounded by grandmothers and aunts who embroidered trousseaus for their granddaughters and the daughters of friends. Fabrics and embroidery, songs and traditional dishes are the indelible hallmarks of her culture. At the age of 19, she moved to Milan, graduated from the NABA Academy, and then undertook an intensive course in haute couture embroidery at the Fashion Embroidery School in Rome. That same year, she began her career by securing positions at the most prestigious embroidery firms in Milan and the surrounding area, working for international fashion brands including Giorgio Armani, Roberto Cavalli, Dolce&Gabbana, Bottega Veneta, Louis Vuitton and so on. In 2020, she launched a training programme in the sector with the aim of reconnecting young people with manual skills and training a new generation of artisans, contributing to the rediscovery and promotion of an art form that combines tradition and innovation, and fostering dialogue between generations through embroidery.

Sewing, mending, creating
Tailoring workshop
Organised by Egg Essential Items and straccettiErivoluzione
A workshop to rediscover an ancient art and craft, acquiring the basic theoretical and technical skills needed to sew, repair and create.
You’ll learn how to thread and use a sewing machine and how to handle basic tailoring tools. You’ll experiment with geometry by sewing straight, angled and curved lines. You’ll learn to think like a tailor and, guided by the three mantras of tailoring, you’ll create a small item to take home with you.
Who are Egg Essential Items and Straccetti Erivoluzione? • The cultural association Straccetti E Rivoluzione was founded in 2016 when a diverse group of people came together to invest their time and energy in exchange, experimentation and creation across all areas of the textile arts, in the reuse and creative recycling of waste materials, in the promotion of an ethical and artisanal approach to work, and in the pluralistic and inclusive management of communal spaces as places for encounter and cross-fertilisation between different forms of knowledge, generations and cultures. The group organises tailoring courses and communal sewing sessions, provides a quick tailoring service, creates bespoke garments and accessories, and produces small batches of one-off pieces using discarded materials.
