Chiara Turco live

"Summer is coming to an end" at the Castello Volante in Corigliano d'Otranto

On Sunday 10 September (9.00 pm – free entry), on the terraces of Nuvole, the cocktail bar and bistro at the Castello Volante in Corigliano d’Otranto, the ‘L’estate sta finendo’ series continues with electropop by Chiara TurcoL’estate sta finendo”, a series promoted by Coolclub and Sei Festival as part of the Puglia Sounds Circuito dei Luoghi 2023 programme organised by the Puglia Region (a project funded under the Puglia POR ERDF-ESF 2014/2020 – Axis VI Action 6.8 – “PP-Tpp Puglia Programme. Rediscover the Wonder 2023”).

The Salento-based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist (vocals, guitar, loop station, synth), joined on stage by Errico Carcagni Ruspa (keyboards, synth, programming), will present her “visual” music, as she likes to describe it. Her use of electronic instruments leads her to move around the stage, creating a synergy between sounds and movements that are a delight to both listen to and watch.

She made her debut as a singer-songwriter in 2016 with the five English-language tracks on “First”, an EP released by Alberto Dati’s independent label, Putsch Records. In 2017, she began collaborating with Xo La Factory and, with the single “You Know”, took to the stages of the Cinzella Festival, Contronatura Festival, ClaXOn Fest, Awanda Indie Fest and Uno Maggio Taranto, sharing the stage with artists such as Brunori Sas, Levante, Ghemon, Noemi, Irene Grandi, Vinicio Capossela, Frankie Hi-Nrg and The Zen Circus. In 2018, he performed at Medimex as part of Puglia Sounds, in an edition that also featured Placebo and Kraftwerk. That same year, he released the CD “Via Roma”, featuring eleven tracks in Italian that confirmed his “pop-oriented and dynamically varied electronic sound”.

The promotional tour took him to over 40 Italian cities and the festivals Keep On Live Fest, SEI – Sud Est Indipendente and Arezzo Wave. In 2020, he began a live collaboration with the band La Municipàl, with whom he also appeared on the programme “Tonica” on RAI 2 (2022), presented by Andrea Delogu. He was a finalist in the 1MNext 2023 – Primo Maggio contest in Rome. Her latest singles, “Isole Nuove” and “Non Smetti di Bruciare”, herald the new album due for release in the coming months.

From 7 pm (info and table bookings: 3343429268⁣ – nuvole@ilcastellovolante.it), guests can take a seat to enjoy an aperitif and sample Nuvole’s revamped menu, created by chefs Andrea Mazzola and Diletta Bagordo. During the evenings, visitors can explore the “Visioni del Sud” exhibition, featuring, amongst others, the exhibitions “La Candelora a Montevergine” by Alessandro Gattuso, ‘Queer è Ora’ by Alessia Rollo, curated by Transparent, 73100 Gaya and Big Sur, and ‘RestartRestanze’ by Maurizio Fiorino.
