On the terraces of Nuvole, a cocktail bar and bistro at the Castello Volante in Corigliano d’Otranto, the ‘L’estate sta finendo’ festival continues, organised by Coolclub and Sei Festival as part of the Puglia Sounds Circuito dei Luoghi 2023 programme organised by the Puglia Region.
On Sunday 3 September (9.00 pm – free entry), singer-songwriter Dalila Spagnolo will be performing. Accompanied by Luigi Russo (keyboards) and Angelo De Grisantis (drums and percussion), she will perform, amongst others, tracks from her first two albums, “Fragile” (2021) and “La fame nelle scarpe” (2023).
Her solo project began in 2020 with a sound ranging from pop to world music, blending different musical genres and styles. She immediately began performing her own songs, opening for Toni Bungaro and securing places in numerous awards and events. Eclectic and experimental, Dalila Spagnolo writes and sings in Italian, English and French. The lyrics of her songs explore fragility and the challenges associated with personal growth. In this new album, the sound is more electronic and the experimental elements more pronounced, whilst retaining her love for African rhythms, which influence some of the tracks on the album. The central theme is the story of personal evolution and growth, beginning with fears and leading to a more mature and self-aware stage in which one is able to ‘grow whilst holding the child within by the hand’.
The album’s title consists of two words, each expressing a specific concept: ‘fame’ represents the purpose, the personal motivation, the desire to improve oneself and to reflect on the things happening around and within us; ‘shoes’, on the other hand, indicate the way in which one moves forward. The two words complement each other because one cannot exist without the other. It is certainly a long and arduous journey, but one undertaken under one’s own steam.
From 7 pm (info and table bookings: 3343429268 – nuvole@ilcastellovolante.it), guests can take a seat to enjoy an aperitif and sample Nuvole’s revamped menu, created by chefs Andrea Mazzola and Diletta Bagordo. During the evenings, visitors can explore the ‘Visioni del Sud’ exhibition, featuring, amongst others, the exhibitions ‘La Candelora a Montevergine’ by Alessandro Gattuso, “Queer è Ora” by Alessia Rollo, curated by Transparent, 73100 Gaya and Big Sur, and “RestartRestanze” by Maurizio Fiorino.
Organised by Coolclub and Sei Festival, the event forms part of the Puglia Sounds Circuito dei Luoghi 2023 programme run by the Puglia Region (a project funded under the Puglia POR ERDF-ESF 2014/2020 – Axis VI Action 6.8 – “PP-Tpp Puglia Programme. Rediscover the Wonder 2023”).
