Over the past nine months, the three cultural and creative enterprises – Multiservice Eco, Coolclub and Big Sur – which, since 2017, together with the Municipality of Corigliano d’Otranto, have been coordinating the project to enhance Castello De’ Monti (winner of the Puglia Region’s call for proposals for the enhancement of cultural attractions) – have been working with APS 34° Fuso and the University of Salento to make the ancient fortress a more open and accessible place for everyone, by integrating technology and humanity.

Since its inception, the Castello Volante project has been a multidisciplinary workshop where history, architecture, cinema, music, photography, writing, gastronomy and craftsmanship come together and engage in dialogue. A network of creative workshops, a major hub for the visual and performing arts connected to the local area and community, dedicated to the rediscovery and preservation of intangible heritage, artistic practice, and the nurturing of soaring ideas.

Thanks to this new initiative, the monumental complex will be increasingly able to ensure accessibility and sustainability through a series of measures to implement the plan for the removal of architectural barriers, a specific training programme for staff, the creation of new museum itineraries and a website, and accessible communication.
