On Wednesday 28 August (9.30 pm – free entry), the terrace of Nuvole, the cocktail bar and bistro at the Castello Volante in Corigliano d’Otranto, will host a concert by Luigi Bruno.
The singer and guitarist is the founder of Collettivo Sbam and Ill Sun Records, the creator and artistic director of the Sagra del Diavolo and the Micromega Festival, the coordinator of the Musica Noscia project, and the leader of the Mediterranean Psychedelic Orkestra and Muffx. Accompanied by Michele Russo, the musician delivers a performance that alternates between unreleased tracks and songs from his various projects. From Muffx songs to forays into world music and Balkan sounds, the show is a non-stop performance that never loses its intensity, underpinned by a musical thread of distorted guitars, solos and melodies that captivate from the very first listen.
The set list includes the recent single “Basta n’attimu”: a track that is sweet, bitter, ironic, genuine, dreamy, nostalgic and uplifting – at once traditional and fresh, romantic and sarcastic. “The lyrics leap from memories of the past to a voice-over narration of the present, a intertwining of lived experience and reliving, without rules but direct and understandable, like dreams without logical sense that shake you up despite everything,” says the author. Over the years, Luigi Bruno has performed in clubs and at festivals in Italy, England, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Spain and Greece, collaborating with some of the leading figures on the Apulian music scene and with major names in Italian and international experimental rock such as Richard Sinclair (Caravan, Soft Machine, Camel), Claudio Simonetti (Goblin) and Aldo Tagliapietra (formerly of Le Orme). From 6.30 pm, guests can enjoy an aperitif and sample the revamped menu created by Diletta Bagordo and Andrea Mazzola, whilst sipping a cocktail from the list carefully curated by Michele Contini.
