A marvellous visual narrative of Matisse’s work, enriched by an intimate and delicate poetic text.
A journey exploring art and the creation of expressive maps.
OBJECTIVES
This workshop has been designed to explore the extraordinary works of Henri Matisse with the light-heartedness of a game, the poetry of a journey of discovery, and a visual narrative of one of the most iconic artistic figures of the twentieth century. Everyone will be able to experience the wonder of art by tapping into the power of the imagination, discovering floating gardens, upside-down worlds, explosions of colourful fragments that encapsulate forms of life and can be reworked in a personal way to access the world of ideas, artistic thoughts and creative potential. Art becomes a fundamental tool for connecting with one’s own expressive core.

WORKSHOP
Creation of an expressive and imaginative map inspired by Matisse’s art, using white card as a background and shapes taken from the works depicted. Some templates will be pre-cut and provided, whilst others will be left to the children’s creativity, allowing them to imagine and draw their own extraordinary characters. Through the use of colour and the collage technique, a small art catalogue will emerge, which everyone can personalise.
The event will take place in the Sale Nobili of the Castello Volante, from 4 pm to 6 pm. Participation is free.
MATERIALS
A3 white card, A4 coloured card (yellow, light blue, red, green), wax crayons, felt-tip pens, coloured pencils, adhesive tape, glue, scissors.
