Until 30 September, the terraces of Nuvole, the cocktail bar and bistro at the Castello Volante in Corigliano d’Otranto, are hosting “L’estate sta finendo”.
On Saturday 26 August (9.00 pm – free entry), the series will host the final stop on Ninotchka’s extensive “Temporalità tour”, a musical project blending singer-songwriting, trip-hop and post-rock by Mimmo Pesare.
The singer-songwriter, musician and producer, after more than twenty years of experience with various independent bands, has launched this solo project, for which he writes and composes both the music and the lyrics.
Joining him on stage (bass, sampler, synth, drums, loops) will be co-producer Marco Ancona (guitars), Maura Palumbo (vocals, backing vocals, cello, electric piano) and Giorgio Consoli (vocals, backing vocals). The set list features tracks from *Temporalità* (NOS Records), the project’s debut album, which features guest vocals from artists of the calibre of Emidio Clementi (Massimo Volume), Georgeanne Kalweit (Delta V), Gianluca De Rubertis (Il Genio), Giorgio Consoli (Leitmotiv), Miss Michela Giannini (Insintesi).
Ninotchka’s music is rooted in sophisticated electronic and trip-hop atmospheres, with great attention and refinement devoted to the Italian lyrics and, above all, to the guest collaborations. Whilst remaining within the lyrical tradition characteristic of Italian alternative singer-songwriting, the album plays with sounds typical of the most contemporary organic electro, with a nod to rhythms that reveal a love for a certain style of 1990s electronic music, characterised by soft breakbeats, whilst constantly incorporating minimalist guitars with new wave and post-rock influences, alongside orchestral arrangements.
Organised by Coolclub and Sei Festival, the event forms part of the Puglia Sounds Circuito dei Luoghi 2023 programme run by the Puglia Region (a project funded under the Puglia POR ERDF-ESF 2014/2020 – Axis VI Action 6.8 – “PP-Tpp Puglia Programme. Rediscover the Wonder 2023”).
