On Tuesday 15 August at 9.00 pm, the Castello Volante in Corigliano d’Otranto will host the world premiere of the art film *Salamandra* by Jatun Risba and Franco G. The event will feature a brand-new sound performance by Daniele Semeraro and performative interventions by Jatun Risba in the Sala Cavallerizza.
Jatun Risba is a transmedia artist whose practice fosters reciprocity between species and the right to pleasure; a hiatus that creates spaces for the experience of the self beyond the self. Inspired by the world’s diverse wisdom traditions, Risba uses performative ritualism as a vehicle to reveal the poetry and magic within reality, with the aim of reconnecting Nature and Culture. Franco G. Livera is an artist who has used photography and video as his preferred media since the 1990s. He specialises in the dramatic use of light, inspired by Caravaggio and Rembrandt. He explores the dynamics of illness in all its forms: mental, physical and spiritual. Risba and Livera have been collaborating regularly since the summer of 2019.
