Cristiano Cosa, Kyoto, Proto, Rossana De Pace, Isobel Kara, Lit up Fuse, RicordaCassandra and Shabby are the eight finalists in SEI D’AutoreOn Friday 28 and Saturday 29 June (9.00 pm – free entry), the atrium of the Castello Volante in Corigliano d’Otranto will host the third edition of the contest dedicated to young singer-songwriters from Puglia, promoted by Coolclub’s SEI festival. The project aims to support new talent, giving eight artists under the age of 30 (singers, composers, and songwriters – either sole or co-authors of the songs) the chance to perform and win a spot on the SEI stage, which will be hosting a packed programme of concerts and events across the Salento region throughout the summer. Following an initial selection process, the two-day event in Corigliano d’Otranto will determine a winner who will be included in the line-up for the eighteenth edition of the festival, themed ‘Perdersi per ritrovarsi’ (Lose yourself to find yourself). From 6.30 pm on the terraces of Nuvole, the cocktail bar and bistro at Castello Volante, guests can enjoy an aperitif and sample the revamped menu created by chef Diletta Bagordo, whilst sipping a drink from the list carefully curated by Michele Contini.

On Friday 28 June (9.00 pm – free entry), the stage will feature Cristiano Cosa, a multi-instrumentalist from Taranto whose artistic journey is strongly rooted in singer-songwriting, infused with influences from Britpop, rock and funk; Kyoto, the solo musical project of singer-songwriter, drummer, producer and performer Roberta Russo, which blends beatboxing with dark, cinematic electronic sounds; the singer-songwriter Proto, who studied singing and piano from a young age and went on to learn the guitar, ukulele, bass, percussion and other instruments; Rossana De Pace, a vocalist whose roots lie in the Mediterranean, combines singer-songwriter pop with the lyrics of modern singer-songwriting.

Saturday 28 June
(9.00 pm – free entry): before the winner is announced, the second evening will feature a performance by Isobel Kara (Chiara Ritelli and Emanuele Balsamo), a musical and theatrical project rooted in classical, sacred and folk music, whilst also incorporating pop influences; Lit up Fuse, a band that blends the raw honesty of punk with the energetic drive of techno and the characteristic warmth of hip-hop samples; RicordaCassandra (Alessio De Sangro), whose sounds draw mainly from the European scene, ranging from electronic music to the Italian and international alternative scene; Shabby (Sabrina Cagnazzo), a singer-songwriter who performs songs (in English and Italian) that reflect her personal experiences and feelings, with the aim of making listeners feel understood and connected.
