Once again this year, as is tradition, on Thursday 31 October (EVENT SOLD OUT) the Castello Volante in Corigliano d’Otranto is set to be transformed into a nightmarish setting for ‘Una notte da paura’ (A Night to Fear), where visitors can lose themselves and venture inside to spend the scariest night of the year amidst music, eerie apparitions, art installations, and literary and cinematic references.
LINE-UP
- Turbolenta, a project created to blend different cultural identities through a single musical expression. Their sets blend traditional North African melodies with Arabic influences, creating a fascinating and profound sonic journey.
- Elasi, an Italian singer-songwriter, composer and producer, will bring her unique style that blends electronic, pop and exotic rhythms. With a background in classical guitar and an international production style, her music is a melting pot of global sounds that transports the audience into a colourful, multi-ethnic universe.
- RADAR JAMMING: The musical identity of Giacomo Greco’s project (founder of Inude) is based on the release of inner emotions through distorted sounds, obsessive rhythms and frenetic shifts, creating an unconventional concept of club music that transforms the dancefloor into a space isolated from external stimuli, where one can give free rein to one’s purest instincts.
- Rachele Andrioli: in just a few years, the artist has established herself as a key figure amongst the new artistic voices emerging from Salento, carrying out an intense programme of concerts and workshops in Italy and abroad. She has performed at national and international festivals, both as a solo artist and with numerous musical groups, showcasing her connection to the traditions of our region.
- Daniele Marzano, a vinyl enthusiast and the undisputed star of his DJ sets, which range from Nu-disco to House, from Funky to Italo, Rare Groove, right through to the most World and electronic fusions.
- Rebecca Wilson, an unpredictable and refined selector, manages to bring together the most unlikely pairings: Bonobo and NuGenea, Nicolas Jaar and De La Soul, Moderat and Chinese Man, Christian Loffler and Lauryn Hill, the Chemical Brothers and Romare, Kaytranada and Disclosure, Bicep and Caribou… And the genres: hip hop and techno, disco, funk and electronic. An Escher-esque back-and-forth through eras and genres, which erases and nullifies distances and differences. Mesmerised by those on the dancefloor, she follows every drop of sweat, making it flirt with its twin BPM. The groove is set. Whether it’s electro, funk, techno or soul, the sound will have heart and soul and will never disappoint the crowd on the dancefloor.
- Max Nocco, a multi-talented artist who has always been active on the Salento underground scene, a tireless vinyl collector and a DJ who ‘curates’ his sets, drawing freely from electronic music, jazz, soul, dub, rock, new wave, krautrock, hip-hop, funk: exactly what you’ll hear in one of his sets featuring his beloved old and new vinyl records.

Afternoon events for little ones
Thursday 31 October at 4.30 pm: ‘VENTI DI PAURA’ at the Municipal Library at the Castello Volante in Corigliano d’Otranto – twenty minutes of read-aloud stories to banish fears. The volunteer readers involved in promoting the national ‘Nati per Leggere’ programme are ready with books and stories for brave little boys and girls.
