Roberto Angelini began playing at a very young age, thanks to the guidance passed on to him by his stepfather, Vittorio Camardese, a self-taught swing guitarist regarded as one of the pioneers of tapping. He writes and performs across a range of genres, from jazz to rock and even heavy metal, and in 1999 Virgin offered him a contract leading to the release of his debut album *Il Sig. Domani* (produced by Daniele Sinigallia) and his appearance at the Sanremo Festival with the title track in the youth category, where he won the ‘Mia Martini’ critics’ prize.
Roberto began touring Italy and opened for numerous artists, including Jarabe De Palo, Max Gazzè, Tiromancino, Marina Rei, Carmen Consoli and Elisa (with whom he collaborated on the album “Then comes the sun”). The hit of summer 2003 bore his signature: “Gattomatto”, the first single from the album “Angelini”, led him to perform at the Arena di Verona in the Festivalbar final and earned him a nomination at the Italian Music Awards. Two further hit singles followed: “La Gioia del Risveglio” and “12 anni”. In 2004, Virgin released “Ripropongo”, an EP in which Roberto reinterpreted some songs from his latest album in acoustic versions; that same year, together with his musician friends, he opened a recording studio in Rome and a record label called “FioriRari”. In 2005, together with violinist Rodrigo D’Erasmo, he released “Pong Moon – sognando Nick Drake –”, a tribute to the English singer-songwriter. For years he accompanied Niccolò Fabi on tour and later became an official member of the band Propaganda Live. At the end of 2020, he previewed the release of his fifth solo album with the single “Incognita”.
