The event on Friday 26 November, the second instalment of the series “Meat or fish? A story of choices – Women of yesterday, today and tomorrow”, aims to highlight the value of women, whilst reaffirming a firm “No” to violence against women.
One of the first victims of femicide in Puglia was Santa Scorese, a young Catholic activist who was persecuted and murdered by her stalker. Her life and work will be explored through the lens of cinema: in the film by Alessandro Piva, who directed the documentary *Santa subito*, winner of the Rome Film Festival in 2019; through the memories of her sister, RosaMaria Scorese; through the words of Simonetta Dello Monaco, President of the Apulia Film Commission; and through the testimonies of those who provide psychological and legal support on a daily basis, such as Maria Pia Vigilante and Beatrice Chiriatti, respectively President of the Giraffa Onlus Association and a psychologist at the centres of the SanFra Anti-Violence Network.
This second event will also take place at Corigliano d’Otranto Castle at 6.15 pm and will be introduced by a welcome address from Mayor Dina Manti.

The event forms part of the ‘Smarrimenti 2021’ project, conceived by the Archès Cultural Association for the Puglia Region’s 2020 Special Programme for Culture and the Performing Arts, in collaboration with the Municipality of Corigliano d’Otranto and the CoolClub cooperative.
