Through one of the oldest art forms – the portrait – the Stamperia explores the streets, lives and stories that fill the castle and village of Corigliano d’Otranto, delving into both real and mythological faces. The artist-in-residence programme featuring printmaker Giancarlo Nunziato will give rise to an exhibition of hand-printed works, etched in ink and transferred onto cotton paper, creating a unique and unrepeatable piece, just as the face of every person and story that lives in the village is unique.
Giancarlo Nunziato, a painter and engraver, lives and works in Lecce; his work is the result of an obsessive and thoughtful devotion to portraiture and the human figure, as a means of commemorating life through others.
