The ‘Il viaggio dei diritti’ project was launched a year ago, on 27 January 2022, to mark Holocaust Remembrance Day, and will come to an end next Friday, 27 January 2023
Organised by the Municipality of Corigliano d’Otranto in collaboration with Amnesty International, Castello Volante and the Magma aps association, The project involved a group of pupils from the Corigliano Comprehensive School who, throughout the year, worked alongside Amnesty volunteers and have recently created a stop-motion animation to share what they have learnt during these sessions.
On Friday 27 January at 7.00 pm, the Castello Volante will host the presentation of this project: the stop-motion video, produced in collaboration with young volunteers from the Civil Service and the Corigliano d’Otranto Municipal Library
Speakers:
The Mayor of Corigliano, Dina Manti,
The project coordinators, Prof. Annunziata Calabria and Lucia Costantini,
Volunteers from the Lecce group of Amnesty International’s Italian section,
A testimony by Cristina Coia on her experience of the ‘Train of Remembrance’
The Magma aps association will give themed readings and facilitate Cristina’s testimony.
The aim of the project was to encourage reflection on fundamental human rights, starting with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights adopted and proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly in 1948, moving on to the present day and examining the state of human rights around the world
Holocaust Remembrance Day thus becomes the starting point for a process of work and reflection on oneself, on others and on the world around us
