The Castello Volante in Corigliano d’Otranto is not just a monument to visit, but a place for active and creative learning.
Through the projects ‘Il Castello Volante for boys and girls’ and ‘Il Castello Volante for young people’, we offer educational programmes designed for all school age groups, from primary to upper secondary school.
Through play, active participation and hands-on discovery, pupils enjoy experiences that bring together the history, art, nature and culture of the local area.
Particular attention is paid to:
- interdisciplinary approach, in line with the school curriculum;
- inclusivity and overcoming gender stereotypes;
- development of key European competences;
- link to the themes of the 2030 Agenda.
The Castle is a safe and welcoming place, with spacious areas both indoors and outdoors, making it ideal for educational activities all year round.
The setting of Corigliano d’Otranto, a quiet town that is ideal for children and young people, makes every school trip easy to organise and stress-free for teachers and accompanying adults.
Open Day for teachers and educators
To present its 2025/26 educational programme, the Castle is organising the ‘A Castle for Schools’ Open Days.
An opportunity to find out about our projects, visit the Castle free of charge, talk to the education team and receive resources to help us plan the new school year together.
Attendance is free, subject to booking.
