*Prima di fare fuoco* is an audio and visual installation designed for an octagonal space. Four paintings hang on the walls: they comment on the allegories associated with the saints carved on the castle’s towers. Visitors can activate the tape decks at will, allowing them to experience the effects – harmonies and missteps – of a random orchestration of the sounds the artist recorded and transferred to tape during their residency.
‘(In)visible Things’ is a project by Big Sur, realised as part of UCREATE in collaboration with Castello Volante and La Festa di Cinema del Reale, which saw a group of young artists from Puglia engaged in a co-creation process alongside the local community. The training programme, funded by the European Union, was led by Alessia Rollo, Paolo Pisanelli and Francesco Maggiore and was carried out in collaboration with other international partners.
