“This is Pink” is a series of nine illustrations by the Apulian artist Andy Trema. Francesca Mele, the artist’s real name, attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Lecce and, after devoting much of her time to music, embarked on a new artistic path, immersing herself fully in the female universe and capturing its delicacy, irony, promiscuity, eccentricity and intimacy. Her bold and at times irreverent illustrations are simultaneously accompanied by melancholic and pensive gazes.
In ‘This is Pink’, through nine illustrations painted in shades of red following Johannes Itten’s famous colour wheel, Andy Trema gives voice to many women, offering a personal interpretation of current moods and events.
