Stagioni brings to a close the research project that Cosimo Terlizzi has dedicated to Lamia Santolina, the botanical garden he has created and observed over the years as a place for experimentation, care and engagement with living things. Over time, this space has taken the form of a constantly changing landscape, where Mediterranean plants, blooms and wildlife coexist in a state of shifting equilibrium.
The four works that make up the cycle correspond to the seasons, understood not simply as a chronological sequence but as variations in light, temperature and the behaviour of living things. Dawn, the height of summer, the transition to autumn and the winter lull become moments through which to observe the often imperceptible transformations taking place in the garden. Observation and participation coincide and coexist within the same gaze. The garden does not appear as a backdrop or an object of study, but as an active presence, capable of changing and reacting. Time thus manifests itself as accumulation, anticipation and return; a continuous process that links the various forms of life together and reveals the relationships that inhabit this place.
