Through one of the oldest art forms – the portrait – the Stamperia explores the streets, lives and stories that fill the castle and village of Corigliano d’Otranto, delving into both real and mythological faces. The artist-in-residence programme featuring printmaker Giancarlo Nunziato will give rise to an exhibition of hand-printed works, engraved in ink and transferred onto cotton paper, creating a unique and unrepeatable piece, just as the face of every person and story that lives in the village is unique.

Giancarlo Nunziato
Giancarlo Nunziato was born in Gagliano del Capo (Lecce). He graduated from the V. Ciardo Art School in Lecce and went on to attend the Academy of Fine Arts in the Salento capital, where he obtained his first- and second-level academic diplomas. A painter and engraver, he lives and works in Lecce; his work is the result of an obsessive and thoughtful devotion to portraiture and the human figure, as a means of commemorating life through others.
