Quadritos

by Brunella Tegas, in collaboration with Daniela Diurisi

The ‘Quadritos’ – pagan altars commemorating people from various eras and with the most diverse of stories – are the brainchild of Brunella Tegas. They are an attempt to bring to mind events that are sometimes very distant in time, and sometimes more recent, where the stories evoked, rather than the biographies themselves, become the subject of reflection.
Each Quadrito is a unique, handmade piece, at the centre of which – set against a backdrop of colourful fabrics, flowers and Central American-style ornaments – is a photograph of the subject, always accompanied by one or more miniature objects that recall the story or one of the stories of their life.

You’ll find familiar faces from the worlds of culture and art, figures from revolutionary movements and social struggles, inventors, shoemakers, sportspeople and mathematicians… some you’ll recognise, others you’ll discover, but every story deserves to be told and passed down.
