The Invisible Image

an exhibition of analogue photographs curated by Linea in collaboration with pupils from the “Corigliano Melpignano Castrignano” Comprehensive School as part of the ‘Seeing the Invisible’ project

‘The Invisible Image’ is an exhibition curated by ‘linea’, the result of a photography workshop held at the Comprehensive School of Corigliano d’Otranto, Melpignano and Castrignano de’ Greci. At a time when there is an overabundance of images and their sharing is often done unconsciously, returning for a moment to analogue photography, to slowness, to the art of observing, and to waiting (until the image can be seen only after the film has been developed), becomes a necessity, to learn once more to observe and enjoy the little things. By constructing fully functional cardboard cameras and utilising the pinhole principle, the pupils created a personal photographic narrative on the theme of the invisible.

Photographs by Sebastiano Ancora, Maria Colazzo, Davide Colì, Matilde Costa, Emanuele Francioso, Martina Garganese, Aurora Giannuzzi, Dzmitry Lapatsin, Giulio Maggio, Matilde Marrocco, Marta Meleleo, Maurizio Meleti, Noemi Montalco, Octavian Pascariu, Giulio Prete, Beatrice Quarta, Francesco Spagnolo

‘Seeing the Invisible’ is a project by Big Sur carried out as part of ‘Cinema and Images for Schools’ and promoted by the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Education and Merit.
