Moj in the water / One after another

a project by Michelangelo Greco, Susanna Lupi, Rachele Stagni and Federico Trevisan

Moj in tl’ aqua / ‘Nserta dopu nserta is a research project by a group of students at ISIA Urbino, led by Prof. Mauro Bubbico. The idea behind it is to bring together the worlds of the rice-paddy workers and the tobacco workers – and vice versa – through an encounter that has never taken place due to geographical distances. This hypothetical encounter can serve as a source of inspiration for new and necessary ways of remembering, without claiming to offer further answers, but with the aim of laying the foundations for new questions.

The exhibition project consists of a collection of archival images (some photographs are taken from the Giuseppe Palumbo archive) in which images of the female protagonists are interspersed with the folk songs characteristic of these two groups of female workers, which are also reflected in the exhibition design through fabrics that convey these stories.
