Harmonic Resonance System is an audio-visual installation conceived by Simone Gatto, a composer and music therapist from Salento, which integrates specific techniques of musical composition with colours diffused throughout the space by LED lights. Each colour is associated with a different vibrational spectrum to create a perfect harmonic resonance with our energy centres and with living organisms.
Monaural Beats: These result from the external mixing of two separate fixed tones, producing a sound almost identical to that of binaural beats. The concept behind monaural BWE is the same as that of binaural beats. Two slightly different fixed tones are fed into each speaker, and the resulting sound is mixed before reaching the ear. The result is similar to a binaural beat. As the tone is generated outside the skull, monaural beats do not require the use of headphones.
Isochronic Tones: An isochronic tone is a tone that is switched on and off at the desired frequency. They create clear and distinctive sound pulses. By transmitting isochronic tones through headphones or speakers across a frequency range of approximately 0.5 to 25 hertz, it is possible to create a resonance effect and shift the frequency of the dominant brainwaves up or down, thereby facilitating the attainment of the desired brain state.
Natural / primordial sounds: The sound of rain falling on a window, a flowing river, the ceaseless murmur of the ocean crashing against a rock, the chirping of certain birds, the song of a whale. The sounds of nature have a cathartic effect on our bodies. It is like a return to our origins, an escape, a channel that helps us focus whilst simultaneously setting us free.
